1. Dunia Fantasi (Dufan)

Dunia Fantasy in English means Fantasy World. The concept is amusement complex with many interesting rides, entertainment show and great facilities. Dunia Fantasi is just like a Disney Land with much simpler in concept and technologies. Although is not as spectacular as Disneyland, Dunia Fantasi is still one of the best amusement park in Indonesia. Located within the exclusive entertainment enclave of Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, Dunia Fantasi attracts more than thousand people every day from all over Indonesia. The entrance fee for Dunia Fantasi is IDR 120.000 (14 US$) for weekdays and IDR 150.000 (18 US$) for weekends and additional entrance ticket for entering Taman Impian Jaya Ancol is IDR 13.000 (1.5 US$) per pax.
2. Gelanggang Samudera

Gelanggang Samudera’s location is also located within Taman Impian Jaya Ancol exclusive enclave. In English Gelanggang Samudera means Ocean Arena. Basically this place is focusing on oceanic entertainment show. This place consists of two main entertainment stages. First is Gelanggang Samudera itself which is running show of dolphins, whale, and walrus attraction in a form of circus show. It is very entertaining show we must say. Second will be 4-dimension theatre. We assume you already familiar with 3D movies but how about 4D? With 4D movies, it is not just your eyes that will exposed by the effect of third dimension but your other senses will experiencing the ambience too. If you see a war then you will smell the gun powder, if in the movie scene is near water then later you really will be getting splashed by it. It is a must try entertainment show. The entrance ticket will be IDR 60.000 (7 US$) for weekdays and IDR 90.000 (11 US$) for weekends not includes the Taman Impian Jaya Ancol entrance ticket.
3. Ragunan Zoo

Ragunan Zoo is one and only zoo that is available in Jakarta. Filled by so many exotic animal collections from all over Indonesia and and the world, Ragunan Zoo becomes a very interesting place to be visited with your family. The entrance fee is very cheap (IDR 4000 / 0.5 US$) which is why on the weekends this zoological park will full of parents spending their time with their child. There’s a lot of interesting animal attraction everyday even getting more interesting on the weekends. 4. Istiqlal Mosque and Cathedral Church

Istiqlal Mosque and Cathedral Church are located near to each other. It is a symbol of religion tolerances that actually a true identity of Indonesian people.
The fact that Istiqlal Mosque was designed by a famous Christian architect makes the bond even stronger.
Both buildings are constructed over a massive size of land, and on religious ceremonial days for Muslim or Christian, these places will be holding most biggest ceremonial events. As it both wonderfully architected, we suggest to make your camera ready for this place.
5. Monas (National Monument)

Monas is Indonesia’s national monument. Just like Eiffel in Paris, Monas also becoming national proud symbol for Indonesia as well as for Jakartan. With height reaches 433 feet high, Monas was built to commemorate heroic national struggle to take Indonesian Independence Day from Netherland colonial back in the days. Under Indonesia’s first president Ir. Soekarno direction, Monas was built elegantly with 14.5 tons of silver and covered by 35 Kg pure gold. Here you can go to the top of the tower through lift and have a wonderful view of Jakarta, or you can also visit the national museum underground. Monas will be a great historical tourism destination for you.
6. Planetarium

It’s a wonderful education theater that located within Ismail Marzuki Park, Cikini, Menteng, Center Jakarta. There are 9 shows a day with different interest topic for almost 60 minutes per show. The theater chair is comfortable and can be adjusted to most comfortable position for you while watching the show which is projected on a half globe ceiling. It was built during Indonesia’s first President Ir. Soekarno period for educational goals particularly a lesson about the space and the universe. Other than the theater you can also use the observation device such as star telescope for simply observing the stars or watching the eclipse. The entrance ticket fee is IDR 7.000 (0.8 USD) for adult and IDR 3.500 (0.4 USD) for children below 13 years old. Below is the schedule time for the show:

7. SeaWorld Indonesia

As a nation that almost covered by ocean, Indonesia is certainly has its own SeaWorld. The concept of gigantic oceanic aquarium is displayed within Taman Impian Jaya Ancol complex, North Jakarta. Other than watching the beauty of ocean creature inside the tank, you can also cuddling their babies in babies tank including baby shark. If you are lucky, you might have a chance to watch feeding time which is wrapped in interesting show. The entrance ticket will cost IDR 50.000 (6 USD) for weekdays and IDR 60.000 (7 USD) for weekends.

TMII is actually not located in Jakarta, but a bit outside Jakarta near to Cibubur. But since this park is very worth your time to be visited, thus it is worth enough to be put on this list as well. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah just like the name “Mini Indonesia” will introduce you in many cultures, many characteristic of Indonesia’s tribes all in one place. TMII also has a huge lake with many land platforms on the centre which illustrates the real islands that spreads all over Indonesia. There are usually a lot of cultural shows here and many museums you can visit. Be sure to save your energy before you go to this place as you will have a wonderful adventure on 67 acre of lands.
9. Wayang Museum

This museum exhibits Indonesia’s traditional leather puppets (Wayang) collections that comes from all over places in Indonesia. There are 5.147 collections and wonderful 4 hours traditional Wayang show for every Sunday in the last two weeks before the end of the month. There are also many interesting and unique souvenirs which you can buy in here. If you are in the mood for some cultural show, make this place as your destination.
